Reclining Passover Chair
Reclining Passover Chair
Here is a reclining chair that I designed for the Jewish Holiday of Passover. I designed this chair to blend symbolic form and function. Since every chair needs a back and it is meant for a specific Jewish holiday, I designed the back of the chair to be in the shape of an elongated Star of David which is a symbol of Jewish freedom and sovereignty. Additionally, because of its elongated shape, the back will comfortably support the user when the chair is both in its upright as well as reclined position. I value making things that matter which is one of the reasons that I chose to make this chair specifically to be used on a very important Jewish holiday that carries great meaning for myself personally.
This chair is also an example of my prototyping skills including:
The use of CAD software for the initial design
A laser cutter for the balsa wood prototype
A CNC machine for the final product
